Start Park – Prato

IRIDRA SRL, with the support of Codesign Toscana and CUT - Circuito urban Temporaneo, won the Designscapes 2nd call Prototypingtender, a European tender drawn up to support virtuous projects in urban contexts, which rewards organizations that propose the use of a collaborative approach in the design of new solutions for improving the quality of life of citizens. 

The tender made it possible to create the first Start Park process at the Proximity Gardens in the Municipality of Prato with the aim of prototyping a co-design process for the co-design of green and blue infrastructures for adaptation to climate change and building resilient communities.

The co-design process was carried out through three types of events:

• Animations: lighter and more playful moments, mainly aimed at gathering information through listening activities and simple co-design activities
• Co-design workshop: events dedicated to the actual co-design of the park with citizens, using co-design tools specifically designed for Start-Park
• Co-Creation workshop: events dedicated to the co-creation with citizens of prototypes related to green and blue infrastructures, therefore aimed at spreading the concepts of adaptation to climate change through manual recreational activities.
