Start Park Lucca – Co-design Workshop

Double appointment for the co-design workshops dedicated to the transformation of Valgimigli Park (Lucca) into the second Start Park in Europe.

  • What new resilient elements would we like to see born and integrated into the park?
  • What benefits can green and blue infrastructures bring to the city of Lucca in the event of water bombs, drought or sultry heat?
  • What activities could we plan within the Park to promote the culture of sustainability and aggregation?

Participating will also be an opportunity to use the Start Card KIT, made up of playing cards and green and blue plans of the Valgimigli Park. The Start Card KIT is the playful design tool as well as board game for designing resilient urban parks, calculating the future impacts and costs of the intervention.

That's right! On 12 and 14 December you are all invited to our online platforms for a truly interactive and educational collaborative design workshop.

Choose the date based on your availability

On Dec 12nd, from 10 am to 12:30 pm or Dec 14th, from 5 pm to 7:30 pm (the activities will be the same during both events)

To participate you must register here: , or by sending an email to luccacreativehub@gmail.com indicating the chosen date. Registrants will be provided with the access link to the platform and online work tools.

Participation is free and open to all

Why participate?

To find out more about the good practices that can be implemented to combat the effects of climate change; to be an active and operational part of the development of a collaborative project and a movement of creative activists (!); to meet experts and professionals in the field of action research and co-design, and architects and engineers in the world of Green-Blue Infrastructure (GBI).

Why a co-design workshop with designers, citizens and residents of the neighborhood?
We in the Start Park community believe that designing a public park - a potential place of social aggregation and capable of improving people's quality of life - with the current or potential users of the green area, and not just with designers, architects and expert engineers, allows us to also address the social needs and requirements of the territory, in addition to the environmental ones.

The project is promoted by Iridra and Codesign Toscana with Lucca Creative Hub association and in collaboration with ASP Carlo del Prete, with the patronage of the Municipality of Lucca thanks to access to European funding from the Designscapes Call
